The positive effect of gelatine hydrolysate for cartilage is known from numerous human studies. Two doctoral dissertations at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover show that feeding gelatine hydrolysate has a positive effect on the growth of skeleton, hair, cartilage, and hoof horn of weanlings and that a supplementation of gelatine has a positive effect on the bone and cartilage metabolism of horses. This means that the risk of developmental skeletal diseases (chips/OCD) can be reduced the by an optimum feed component. Furthermore, Joinol® contents valuable plant extracts from Field horsetail, golden rod, comfrey and boswellia.
Composition: Gelatine hydrolysate (agglomerated) (40.0 %), beet sugar, sodium chloride
Ingredients: Crude protein 43.00 % crude fat 0.01 % crude fibre 0.13 % crude ash 2.70 % lysine 1.49 % methionine 0.31 % moisture 50.30 % sodium 0.41 %
Additives per kg:
Nutritional additives: Iron (iron-(III)-oxide) (E1) 2,800 mg zinc (zinc chloride, monohydrate) (E6) 2,700 mg copper (copper(II)sulphate, pentahydrate) (E4) 135 mg
Sensory additives: Field horsetail extract 20,000 mg golden rod extract 12,500 mg comfrey extract 7,500 mg boswellia extract 5,000 mg sodium saccharin (E 954(iii)) 20,000 mg
Feeding recommendation:
Horses (600 kg): 40 ml daily
Ponies (300 kg): 20 ml daily
Foals and horses up to 3 years: 10 ml daily per 150 kg bodyweight.
Administration via feed, drinking water or oral syringe.
Feeding direction: Due to its higher content of trace elements in comparison with complete feeds this complementary feed may only be fed to horses up to 1.0 % of their daily ration.
Doping relevance: Recommended waiting period according to German ADMR (Stand: 01/ 2012): 48 hrs. Please additionally consider the latest doping restrictions
Storage conditions: Shake well before use! Keep cool (max. 25°C), free of frost and out of light! No liability in case of improper handling or storage.
