Re-Active is a supplement for horses with metabolic disorders Hufrehe or for those which are prone to laminitis, metabolic syndrome or Cushing.
Basically, a starch reduced diet can help against laminitis, as well as controlled grazing. Re-Active supports horses with metabolic disorders by adding vital nutrients it needs.
One of the biggest problems with horses suffering with laminitis is the intestinal flora. Pro- und prebiotics help keep the intestinal flora healthy.
The liver plays a very important role in the body, it detoxifies the blood, ciphering out toxics out of the body and neutralising toxic products, which can also cause metabolic disorders, such as laminitis. Herbs, such as lady’s thistle, dandelion, liquorice root and artichoke supply the body with important nutrients which support the liver, improving its detoxification capacity.
Herbs, such as chaste tree, cinnamon and ginseng contain nutrients that have proven to help and support horses suffering with metabolic disorders.
A good blood circulation of the capillaries in the hooves is most important against laminitis. Feeding herbal remedies such as hawthorn, as well as regularly exercising the horse, will keep the circulation going.
Furthermore, Re-Active is rich on antioxidants, such as vitamin E and C, and selenium. Vitamin B is essential for the metabolism of sugar.
Re-Active should be given at intervals; we recommend feeding this supplement during the spring whilst the horses are slowly being introduced to grazing after a long winter; supplementing for about a month during the autumn could also be helpful.
