Nettle acts as an astringent, circulatory stimulant and diuretic, they are rich in Vitamin C, pro Vitamin A, Caffeoyl-China acid, mineral salts, especially calcium and potassium, silicic and formic acid, magnesium, iron, chlorophyll, acetylcholine, wax and essential oils, as well as histamine, serotonin.
Caffeoyl-China-acid acts as a pain killer, astringent and anti-inflammatory; its main medical use is for relief of joint disorders such as rheumatism and arthrosis. Apart from that, nettles are also used against breathing and digestive disorders, such as colic. It is a wonderful spring tonic and for general conditioning and is excellent for conditioning skin and coat.
